Hello My Name Is

Hey Treasures, so today I want to share with you what I like to call my life's theme song! You may have seen this on my about me sections for my blog and my social media.

I love this video, I hope you also enjoy it

I do realize the video has the lyrics but I wanted to share them either way.

Matthew West - Hello My Name Is
Hello, my name is regret
I'm pretty sure we have met
Every single day of your life
I'm the whisper inside
That won't let you forget

Hello, my name is defeat
I know you recognize me
Just when you think you can win
I'll drag you right back down again
‘Til you've lost all belief

These are the voices, these are the lies
And I have believed them, for the very last time

Hello, my name is child of the one true King
I've been saved, I've been changed,
And I have been set free
“Amazing Grace” is the song I sing
Hello, my name is child of the one true King

I am no longer defined
By all the wreckage behind
The one who makes all things new
Has proven it's true
Just take a look at my life

What love the Father has lavished upon us
That we should be called His children
I am a child of the one true King

Tips for Long Term Friendships

"When we consider the blessings of God—the gifts that add beauty and joy to our lives, that enable us to keep going through stretches of boredom and even sufferingfriendship is very near the top."
—Donald W. McCullough, Mastering Personal Growth

God has blessed me with some amazing women in my life and some amazing friendships.
I have a beautiful mother whom has been through so much YET she still is always beautiful and such a blessing to me and Mr. Aguila and is one of my very best friends.

I have my cousins, whom I grew up with and though the paths of our lives have taken many turns at the end of it all, we are family and I love my family.  This pretty much sums it up.
Source
I have my "buddy" which most people would refer to as their "best friend" but I just never have liked to use that so I call her MY BUDDY but she is everything that a best friend is and so much more, our friendship has lasted well over 20 years and that is more than half of my life time. Her and I have been through many stages of our lives and even when we go through long stretches of not catching up with each other, WHEN we finally do we pick up as if no time has even passed us by. I love this here girl and her beautiful family.

And last but not least, I have my real life GIG(Girlfriends in God) We encourage each other daily, check on each other daily and best of all pray with each and for each other.  These ladies inspire me to keep going and to keep growing. We have been connected by God on this journey for over six years. In these six years, we have grown in our walks with God, got married, moved, changed, experienced heart aches, hard times and just life and through it all we remain united.

We have had ups and we have had downs, we have experienced misunderstandings, we have gone through disappointments, we have rubbed each other like sand paper BUT I must say we continue going, keeping our love for each other.

Having all these amazing ladies in my life has helped me so much through MANY things in my life.  There are many others who have come along and done life with me and I do realize it and I am ever so thankful to you as well.

I think it is important to connect this way.  I didn't use to which is why I only have a handful of friends and I didn't mention them all here and as I am typing this there are some that come to mind but they know I love them also!

A FEW TIPS I HAVE LEARNED ON MAINTAINING A LONG TERM FRIENDSHIP:

LOVE, LOVE and more LOVE and I when I say LOVE, I am talking about that 1st Corinthians 13 kind of LOVE.

Always Speak The Truth In Love Even If It Hurts
Proverbs 27:5-6 (NLT)
An open rebuke is better than hidden love!
Wounds from a sincere friend are better than many kisses from an enemy.
Sometimes It Takes Making Sacrifices
John 15:13 (NLT)
There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.

Strengthen and Help Each Other
Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 (NIV)
Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor:
10 If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls
and has no one to help them up.
11 Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone?
12 Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.

Counsel Each Other
Proverbs 27:9 (NLT)
The heartfelt counsel of a friend is as sweet as perfume and incense.

Sharpen Each Other
Proverbs 27:17 (NLT)
As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend.

So what about you, do you have girlfriends like this?  If so, what has helped you maintain them and if not I hope my biblical tips will help you as they continue to help me.  I am far from perfect and I am constantly learning and growing and stretching through these relationships because God just loves us too much to leave us the same and for that I am thankful.

Changing Our Mindsets

Hey Treasures and happy Sunday.

The other day I read this, "Be your mind's master, not it's slave." I am sorry, I don't even remember where I seen it. I read it and re-read it though and something snapped in me as if a mind set just broke off.   I can entangle such an awful web just in my mind.  I can get so paralyzed just by my thoughts.

I read it and then it reminded me of 2 Corinthians 2:5 and I looked it up and read a few different versions of this scripture and of course I shared with my GIG (GirlfriendS in God) and even my cousin and quickly thought this would be a good blog post so here are some of different bible versions that spoke to me. I use Bible Gateway as an online tool to look up bible verses and the different versions.
We are demolishing arguments and ideas, every high-and-mighty philosophy that pits itself against the knowledge of the one true God. We are taking prisoners of every thought, every emotion, and subduing them into obedience to the Anointed One.

I destroy every claim and every reason that keeps people from knowing God. I keep every thought under control in order to make it obey Christ.

2 Corinthians 10:5 The Message (MSG)
3-6 The world is unprincipled. It’s dog-eat-dog out there! The world doesn’t fight fair. But we don’t live or fight our battles that way—never have and never will. The tools of our trade aren’t for marketing or manipulation, but they are for demolishing that entire massively corrupt culture. We use our powerful God-tools for smashing warped philosophies, tearing down barriers erected against the truth of God, fitting every loose thought and emotion and impulse into the structure of life shaped by Christ. Our tools are ready at hand for clearing the ground of every obstruction and building lives of obedience into maturity.

I don't know about you but my mind can wonder like crazy if I let it and my emotions can also get out of hand but this scripture reminds me take my thoughts prisoner (I literally grab my head and command my thoughts to submit into the obedience of Jesus Christ) as well as my emotions and to subdue them into the obedience of the Anointed One.  I am reminded to keep every thought under control in order to make it obey Christ. So in other words I am my minds master and not it's slave.  Through the power of the Word of God and using this powerful God-tool, I am smashing warped philosophies and tearing down barriers and aligning every thought, emotion and impulse into the structure of Christ.

The Word of God has the help we need for every situation and to help us get out and fly.  So when negative thoughts come in like you CAN'T do something take those thoughts captive and reverse it with Truth which tells us that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us, Philippians 4:13.

This photo right here seriously is all me.  I am trying to get fit but it is such a battle in my mind making it so difficult for me but I have to change my mind sets, break out of every lie that holds me back, punch my fears in the face and keep Philippians 4:13 on repeat in my mind and as Philippians 4:8 says...

These are some of the scriptures that are helping me change my mindsets. What helps you?

Happy 2014

Here is wishing you a Happy 2014.

Our smiles speak volumes in this photo. This is me and Mr. Aguila, ringing in the new year at my brother's house.

We had a very intimate new years eve. It was my mom, my brother, my sister in law and two of my nephews (the oldest was with his momma) plus me and the Mister.  We ate and played UNO, Poker, Loteria (Mexican bingo) and Toma Todo (another Mexican game) and laughed like never before.  We really had such a great time.
2013 was a good year.  I think I mentioned on here that God did a miracle and answered our years of praying for my brother.  He is now living healthy and clean and enjoying life.  This has been such a blessing to us and I know that 2014 is going to be even greater.

I pray that 2014 bring you true happiness, exceeding joy, abundant blessings, extreme freedom, excessive love, fulfilled dreams and desires plus answered prayers.

I wanted to share my New Year's Eve outfit with you but I didn't get full photos of the outfit but this is what I wore only that I wore a different Avon necklace.
The cardigan is from WHITE OWL BOUTIQUE
On my feet were these lovely wine color shoes (I have featured them before) that "happen" to match with my new Coach bag.
On my lips was this lovely Avon Lipstick, Oxford Wine that I have also shared on here before.

I know I am late on this but I also want to do a post about my Christmas outfit and my New Year's Day Outfit. I think I will just do it.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a read and please share with me how your New Year's Eve was spent. I'd love to hear.

Boot Shopping

Hey Treasures, Happy Sunday, I hope you all had a great weekend.  I had a very nice staycation and heading back to business as usual come Monday.

So if you follow me on Instagram @mrsaguila09 or on Facebook @lifeasmrsguila you seen this yesterday. I decided to do a reveal post on which brown boots you chose for me.

Have you heard of JustFab?  Are you a member?  Just Fab is where "Members receive monthly shoe and handbag selections based on their personal style, and the items are handpicked for them by their own style expert. It's like having a personal shopper and celebrity stylist in one!" If you are a shoe collector like me, you can join here, JustFab invite.  I do get some credit when you join and place your first order.

I would like to thank everyone that helped me choose. I can seriously be so indecisive. This is not a good characteristic to have but this was a lot of fun and I plan to do a small giveaway for everyone who helped me choose. I was thinking a $10 credit from Mrs. Aguila's Avon and Mark Shop.  Let me know what you think about that.

So here is the tally and the winner of the boots I am going to order.

Ok so here are close ups of the boots and links to full details in case you are interested.

Audrie Boots from Just Fab

Nottingham Boots from JustFab

Wellington Boots from JustFab
Ok so confession as I went back into the website to write this post, I noticed that for B. Nottingham, I shared the Cognac color not the brown which by the way I love and will probably order as well and secondly C. Wellington I shared is actually burgundy and the brown is cognac, much lighter than what I am looking for plus I have boots that color. Needless to say I am glad A. Audrie won and I can't wait to get them and share how I dress them up.

Thank you again to those who voted and thank you for reading.
